It’s Dangerous To Go Alone

We had a Legend of Zelda theme for our wedding, but wanted it to be subtle. Wood, moss, and fairy lights were everywhere. The bridesmaids wore a grey reminiscent of a misty morning in a forest and the accent color was gold. The tables were named after the songs in Ocarina of Time & Majora’s Mask. I had to include this epic quote no matter what. Designing this was very difficult due to its delicate, intricate nature and the fact that I needed to laser cut it.

‘Til Death Do Us Part

Okay, I was a little excited about being a newlywed. Having dated my spouse many years before getting engaged and married, I was stoked to be with them forever. I thought it would be interesting to take the most grim sounding part of our wedding vows and make it scripty and pretty. I liked the contrast, plus it was October, so the timing seemed appropriate.

Christmas 2020

Due to COVID-19, there was no annual Aspen Christmas Party for 2020, but we were still going to create cards to send to our customers, vendors, and clients. I needed to create a Rudolph the Reindeer illustration, so I drew up some sketches and a concept was chosen. I took a risk in creating a detailed digital illustration, but it paid off! My art was green-lit immediately without going to a second round of revisions. As for the second card, little did I know that my concept sketches for the first project would be re-used for an internal company post card! This project was urgent and I decided to create a charming traditionally painted illustration using gouache to meet the tight turnaround.

Aspen Yearbook • 2020

This was a project created and delivered on a tight schedule for all of the sales team at Aspen. I handmade the “school” logo and many other elements of this book. I thought this was a fun and inventive way to end 2020.

Christmas • 2019

Artwork for the Aspen Annual Christmas Party in 2019. We were going for a retro, desert feel as the event was taking place in Palm Desert. I personally created all of the illustrations, including the flamingos. The gate fold was also difficult to design around, but was a very unique. The flamingos are from earlier versions of the card. The poor pink birds ultimately ended up being scrapped, but I had so much fun working on them that I wanted to showcase them here as well as some drafts I liked.
